The vintage has all the hallmarks of a great wine. A lovely nose with a mix of fresh fruit, floral notes and spices. A very nice clarity of fruit. On the palate, the tannins are polished and round. A fine balance between freshness, fruitiness and a silky tannic structure. Le vin est à la fois élégant et dense. Beautiful complexity.
JAMES SUCKLING, 94/100 - ‘Elegant palette of chocolate, earth and dark berries, revealing these same flavours on the palate accompanied by stewed blackberries. A melt-in-the-mouth finish with soft, lacy tannins. Beautiful depth."
WINE ADVOCATE, N. MARTIN, 89-91/100.
The winter was both rainy and dry at the end of the season. Starting in April, favorable thermal conditions, combined with adequate soil water replenishment, contributed to uniform budburst. Flowering began in late May and was quick with a correct fruit set rate.
The summer became very hot from June 25, and the initial phase of veraison was slowed by these dry conditions, with the progression of veraison being very slow during the last week of July. These restrictive water conditions in a warm thermal context were favorable for the thickening of skins, their tannin content, and the rapid development of seeds. Starting at the end of July, the water conditions changed drastically. A series of rainy episodes were observed, which unlocked veraison. After this unlocking, the sunlight allowed the tannins to mature optimally. They are very elegant.
2015 is an excellent vintage. The Merlots showed exceptional quality, and as for the Cabernets, they ripened fully and their tannins refined in September. Harvesting began on September 16 and ended on October 2, 2015.
The vineyard, only 10 hectares within the Margaux appellation, benefits from a very high-quality terroir.
The estate is in its final year of certification for organic farming.
Blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (62%), Merlot (32%), and Petit Verdot (6%).
The entirety of this wine was aged in oak barrels for 12 months, with 20% new barrels.
We recommend enjoying this wine between 4 to 20 years from the vintage date.
